About Saint Petersburg

St. Petersburg is one of the most beautiful Cities in the World.

Those who come to our city undoubtedly won't be bored because of lack of places of interest. Streets and prospects of the city on the river Neva allow feeling the ideal harmony and strict perfection. There are 32 theatres, 46 galleries and exhibition halls, 106 museums, 15 palaces, tens of temples and about a hundred of monuments in St. Petersburg. Peter The First chose a flat country and built the city on many islands on the bank of the river Neva. There are 86 rivers, streams, channels, canals, and also more than 100 lakes and ponds. The city is located on 42 islands. The banks of rivers and canals are connected with each other by 379 bridges. This is why St. Petersburg is also called the Venice of the North.

There is a peculiar lace around the city made of parks of Petrodvorets, Pavlovsk, Pushkin, Lomonosov, Gatchina with the most beautiful palaces. They were created as magnificent out-of-town residences of Russian tsars and the court nobility. The wonderful memorials of landscape and garden-park art have become now historical-art museums.

On the whole there are so many fantastic and magnificent things in St. Petersburg, which is impossible to be forgotten, after being seen at least once.
There is exotic show in St. Petersburg - raising bridges across Neva. Only in
Petersburg It's possible to see a marvelous natural phenomenon, which is called "The white nights".

During more than a century St. Petersburg was a capital of Russia, which accumulated unique wealth of it and of world cultures, and opened up wide vistas for actions and inspiration of great researchers, poets, writers, composers, artists, sculptors and architects.

In short, when you visit St. Petersburg you will leave it with a mark of proud, which is felt by all Russians from magnificence of this historical city, with a longing and wish to come back and see it again.
